Cloud Services Roles and Permissions

The Cloud Services roles control:

  • The functions you can perform within the cloud services your organisation has subscribed to. These may be offshore or onshore, e.g. Silver-lining Protect, Managed VMware, Vault.
  • The general CloudCreator functions you can perform in CloudCreator, e.g. Billing, Reports, Service Desk.

Onshore Cloud Service Roles 

The roles and permissions for Onshore Cloud Services are described below. 

 

Role

Azure Stack Administrator 

  • Subscribe and register Azure Stack tenancies.

  • Schedule backups. View Azure Stack subscription details and access Azure Stack portal (via tile).

  • Create, modify, view and perform Azure Stack VM actions.

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

Cascade User

View buckets, tenants and namespaces.

c-Stack Administrator 

  • Access, create, modify and delete c-Stack resources.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

Fortinet Management Administrator

  • Access, create, modify or delete firewall rules, service objects, address objects.

  • Create:

    • New static routes.

    • ISPEC VPN type 1 and 2 tunnels.

    • Revision backup of the current policy applied.

  • Revert back to the last revision backup only (use with caution).

Fortinet Management Author

  • Access, create, modify or delete firewall rules, service objects, address objects (installation to firewall subject to Administrator approval).

  • Delete rules/rollback changes they have made.

Fortinet Management User

View rules, policies and logs.

Homeland Bridge Administrator

  • Perform actions (update bandwidth).

  • View usage graphs and logs.

Homeland Bridge User

Read only access to the Homeland Bridge screen for a virtual cloud. 

PAYG Administrator 

  • Full access to PAYG services via the vCloud PAYG tile.
  • Click to expand:

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs.
  • Able to add PAYG VMs to Schedules.

PAYG Author 

  • Author level access to PAYG services via the vCloud PAYG tile.

  • Console-only access within PAYG via the vCloud PAYG tile.

IaaS Administrator

  • Manage Utility Compute services.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

OVM 

  • View OVM x86 resources.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

Silver-lining DR for PAYG Administrator

Access the Silver-lining DR Portal via the Silver-lining DR for PAYG tile.

Silver-lining Protect Administrator

Access the Admin Console access via the Silver-lining Protect tile.

Silver-lining Shield Administrator

Amend and manage the objects within the SLS portal.

Silver-lining Shield User

Read only access to the objects within the SLS Portal. 

SPARC Administrator 

  • View OVM SPARC resources.
  • Access the SPARC Portal.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

SPARC User

  • View OVM SPARC resources.
  • Access the SPARC Portal. 

Vault Administrator 

  • All Vault users should have this role selected.

  • View, create, modify and delete Vault storage accounts.

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

Vault User

View Vault storage accounts.

vCloud Standard/PAYG Administrator

  • Full access within vCloud Director via the Compute page.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 
  • Able to add vCloud VMs to Schedules.

vCloud Standard/PAYG Author

  • Author level access within vCloud Director via the Compute page.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

vCloud Standard/PAYG User 

  • Console-only access within vCloud Director via the Compute page.
  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

VMware Administrator

  • View a list of VMs

  • Perform actions on VMs (such as power up/down, take snapshots, etc).

  • Create, modify and delete VMs.

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

  • Able to add Managed VM VMs to Schedules.

VMware Author

  • View a list of VMs

  • Perform actions on VMs (such as power up/down, take snapshots etc).

  • Modify VMs.

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

VM User

  • View a list of VMs.

  • Perform actions on VMs (such as power up/down, take snapshots etc).

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

  


Offshore Cloud Service Roles 

The roles and permissions for Offshore Cloud Services are described below.

General Cloud Service Roles

The roles and permissions for General Cloud Service Roles are described below.

Billing Administrator

  • View subscriptions and onshore resources.

  • Modify Cost Centre codes for all.

  • Access the Run Dashboards and Run List Reports features.

Billing User

  • View onshore resources.

  • Amend the Cost Centre settings of resources offering 'Cost Centre' settings.

  • Access the Run Dashboards and Run List Reports features.

DFA Administrator Set and modify Delegated Financial Authority (DFA) Levels and the DFA Level applied to each user.
Documents User Download documents via the CloudCreator Reports page.
Reports User Access and run CloudCreator reports.
Service Desk Administrator
  • Create advanced Service Desk requests and incidents.

  • Has pre-approval for purchases raised through requests.

  • Authorised to make changes that incur costs. 

Service Desk Author Create normal Service Desk requests and incidents.
