Supported Hosting Platforms

CCL's File Gateway service consists of a managed appliance deployed in a client-chosen environment. The benefits and considerations of each supported hosting platforms are described below.

Supported Platforms

CCL IaaS

If you are an existing CCL client, have sovereign data compliance requirements, or would simply prefer to deploy locally, File Gateway appliance(s) can be hosted on-shore, on CCL’s own Cloud Compute platform.

Alternatively, CCL fully supports the deployment of Fie Gateway in AWS, Azure or on premises. The CCL team can provide guidance and recommendations based on your organisation's requirements.

Benefits Considerations
  • Data located within New Zealand
  • Directly accessible from existing CCL infrastructure
  • New Zealand All of Government certified platform

If your organisation is undergoing a public cloud transformation there may be advantages to hosting File Gateway on your chosen public cloud.

Microsoft Azure

File Gateway appliances are deployed as Azure virtual machines. This provides flexibility to clients who are already undergoing a cloud transformation, or who are utilising Azure services for their existing infrastructure, and want to access CCL Panzura File Gateway internally.

Benefits Considerations
  • Directly accessible from existing Azure infrastructure
  • Lower latency to Azure Blob storage
  • Data loated offshore
  • Data leaving the cloud region subject to egress charges

Amazon Web Services

CCL's File Gateway appliance can be deployed as an AWS EC2 Instance. This provides flexibility to clients who already use AWS, or who want to utilise the AWS S3 offerings as a location for File Gateway.

Benefits Considerations
  • Directly accessible from existing AWS infrastructure
  • Lower latency to AWS S3
  • Data loated offshore
  • Data leaving the cloud region subject to egress charges

Google Cloud Platform

CCL's File Gateway appliance can be deployed on Google Cloud as a GCE virtual machine. This is useful for clients who already use Google Cloud for their infrastructure, or who want to use File Gateway to act as a file storage gateway for existing legacy workloads.

Benefits Considerations
  • Directly accessible from existing GCP infrastrcuture
  • Lower latency to Google Cloud Storage
  • Data loated offshore
  • Data leaving the cloud region subject to egress charges

Customer-Managed ESXi

If you host and manage your own internal infrastructure services, File Gateway can be hosted using either an ESXi or Hyper-V hypervisor provided it meets certain specifications.

To explore this option further, see the Panzura Documentation

Benefits Considerations
  • Maximum control over the underlying infrastructure
  • The client is responsible for the reliability and management of all underlying infrastructure.
  • The client is responsible for the security and access control of the underlying resources
